Meet our Staff
Dr. Robert Treat, Jr.
Dr. Robert Treat, Jr. joined the practice in 1992 realizing 60 years of a family tradition devoted to animal care. Dr. Treat, Jr. received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. He then spent a year in Germany on Fulbright Scholarship before continuing on to received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University in 1992. In his spare time Dr. Treat, Jr. enjoys playing tennis, skiing/snowboarding, hiking, as well as spending time with his wife, Shelley, and their five children, two dogs and two cats.
Dr. Robert Treat Sr
Dr. Robert Treat, Sr. "Dr. Bob" was born in Vermont. He did his undergraduate work at Franklin and Marshall College located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1961 from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, NY. He is a past president of the Vermont Veterinary Medical Association and the New England Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Treat, Sr. and his wife, Sally, informally retired in 2009, but he still spends a lot of his time helping out around the clinic. In his free time he is active with The Boy Scouts of America, and enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, reading, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Jessica Roosevelt
Dr. Jessica Roosevelt, a native Vermonter, completed her undergraduate work at the University of Vermont and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in 1996. Dr. Roosevelt has been with Green Mountain Veterinary Hospital since 2000. She resides in Eagle Bridge, NY with her husband, Pete, their two daughters, two dogs, two cats, and 4 lovely hens. Dr. Roosevelt enjoys hiking, cross country skiing, and various artistic endeavors.
Dr. Ashley Ackert,Dr.
Dr. Ashley Ackert was born and raised in Vermont. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Vermont in 2013. She took a brief break from the winter weather to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida in 2018. During her schooling, she developed professional interests in dentistry, physical rehabilitation, and surgery. In her free time, Dr. Ackert enjoys hiking, quiet afternoons with a good book, watching ice hockey, and spending time with her cat, Ollivander.
Sue started working with us as a part time Bookeeper in 2008. Due to her professionalism, outstanding work ethic and management skills, we quickly promoted her to Practice Manager. Sue keeps our hospital running smoothly with her calm demeanor and willingness to take on whatever the day brings! She is pictured here with her dog, Bruin.
